In the Olympian divine realm, status and power are inextricably tied to bloodline and ancient sacred covenants.
Elarris, the only daughter of Poseidon the Sea God, holds absolute divine dominion over all oceans by birthright. A preeminent ruler acknowledged across the pantheon, she has never needed to lean on any other deity.
Cassian, heir to the Sky Pantheon, is renowned throughout the divine world for his honor, self-discipline and unblemished holiness. That was precisely why Elarris singled him out from countless suitors for a political marriage.
The two mighty pantheons forged a sacred alliance through their powerful union. For three years of marriage, they lived in harmony, and Elarris was content with their bond—until the handmaiden Layla arrived.
Granted exceptional permission to stay by Cassian's side, Layla appeared delicate and docile on the surface, yet burned with rampant ambition beneath. She repeatedly crossed boundaries and provoked Elarris on purpose.
Faced with successive tests of her patience, Elarris held back and compromised, offering Cassian three chances to mend his ways. Yet every leniency only emboldened the pair to push further.
Cassian deluded himself that constant cold treatment and deliberate provocation would wear down her stubborn spirit, taming her into a spouse reliant on him. What he never understood, however, was that Elarris was born wielding supreme authority and would never bow down for the sake of a marriage.
The moment he personally forged a bracelet for Layla, his fate was sealed.
In the end, Cassian was stripped of his right to inherit the Sky Pantheon, while Layla was disgraced and exiled from the divine realm forever. Standing atop the highest terrace of Poseidon’s temple, Elarris gazed out over the boundless divine seas beneath her feet.
The strong never humble themselves to preserve a relationship, and no woman should ever be domesticated by marriage.
