Misty Latham had an affair with her first love, Bruce Jackman. Due to misplaced trust, she wrongly accused her husband, Sean Luton, of being after her money and using their daughter as leverage, leading her daughter in danger. In fact, Sean had been quietly supporting her career. Bruce, however, sought only to exploit her and steal Sean's research plans, while deceiving her to gain her family assets. When the truth emerged, Misty was regretful. But Sean and their daughter, Mia, chose not to forgive her. Sean pursued a romantic interest with his junior, and Mia accepted the new mother, leaving Misty filled with remorse.
