Death Countdown:The Ultimate Rescue

Series details

Seraphina returns to Blackthorn Manor at last, twenty years after her disappearance. To save a child hunted by a demon, she burns her life force to cast a mighty spell. Though the child is rescued, her vitality drains away rapidly, leaving her ageing fast, with her life hanging in the balance until midnight. Her sister Cassia urgently summons Lian Worth, the King of All Remedies. Carrying the Phoenix Heart Dew — the only substance capable of saving Seraphina — Lian travels to the manor aboard the Moonrail Train. Yet an accident makes him knock over Odette’s luggage, and Adrian’s fiancée mistakes him for a fraud.Odette abuses her influence to halt the train. Allying herself with Iris and Dorian, she humiliates Lian. She frames the star-crystal holding the precious elixir as a dark magic artefact, seizing and destroying the medicine. Eve, who has come to provide backup, is also caught up in the chaos.Odette then deceives Adrian, convincing him that Lian intends to harm his mother. Adrian personally blocks the convoy, and the vial shatters. Lian scrambles to salvage what remains of the liquid from the dirt. He reaches Blackthorn Manor just as the midnight bell tolls — but Seraphina is already dead.In despair, Lian performs an untested life-reversal ritual using the half bottle of Phoenix Heart Dew. He bears the death magic into his own body, and at last awakens Seraphina.Once the truth unfolds, Odette’s crimes, her secret affair with Dorian and all her plots of sabotage are exposed. The three are sentenced to death. At the execution ground, however, Odette unleashes the forbidden Wells clan ritual, the Soul Devouring Sacrifice. She consumes the magic of Dorian and Iris, only to be slain by the combined power of Cassia and the revived Seraphina.
