Iris leaves the Miller family and returns to the Yates family. After saving the Jones family's eldest daughter with her medical skills, she earns their trust and recognition. She defuses family conflicts, faces repeated clashes over medicine and morality, and eventually reveals that she is the Ghost Doctor, getting out of danger time and again. Disputes over marriage arrangements, hostile schemes, and deliberate attempts to frame her all fall apart, while Ava Yates comes under investigation. In the end, Iris wins her family's respect, secures her place in the relationship, and the story wraps up with a celebration banquet.
