Gone in Spring is a heartbreaking 35-episode tragic romance, depicting the poignant love between Lily and Malcolm. Born with intellectual impairment, Lily adopted young Malcolm when she was eight. Cold and temperamental at first, he once risked his life to protect her from abusive parents. Lily gave him all her candies, secrets and silent company, staying by his side through countless lonely nights. At eighteen, Malcolm was taken back to Chicago by his wealthy family and brought Lily with him, promising her a peaceful life. However, she faced coldness, bullying and isolation in the wealthy Harrington family. Malcolm got engaged to Alicia and gradually drifted away from Lily. Humiliated and framed at the engagement party, Lily was diagnosed with a brain tumor and only had two months left to live. After enduring misunderstandings, losing her voice in a fire and being confined to a nursing home, she returned to her hometown alone. By the time Malcolm realized his true feelings and rushed to find her, Lily had passed away quietly, leaving him trapped in lifelong regret.
