Born with a cursed shadow, Princess Eyrin was only ever loved by her gentle elder sister, Lysenne. When Lysenne is sent north as a peace-bride and returns brutally mutilated—fed to a starving wolf by the Northern Warlord’s vicious consort—Eyrin vows bloody retribution. Hiding her dark, monstrous nature behind a sweet facade, she volunteers as the next bride. Upon arrival, Eyrin ruthlessly slaughters the consort's white wolf, winning the dangerous fascination of the brutal War-God, Ragnar. Taken to his bed, she plays the submissive lamb while secretly pressing a lethal, blood-stained hairpin against his throat.
