Cassandra Whitmore has always believed in finding one true love and spending a lifetime with only one person. Years ago, after making a wager with Crown Prince Adrian Beckett, she married Edmund Hartley, a man from humble beginnings. Five years later, when Edmund decides to take another woman as his wife, Cassandra calmly honors the terms of their old wager and returns to the capital. Waiting for her all these years, Adrian personally comes to welcome her home. After a series of misunderstandings and heartfelt tests, the two finally let go of the pain from their past and open their hearts to each other. Cassandra eventually takes her place as Queen beside Adrian, and at last gets the love she always dreamed of, a man who chooses her and only her, for a lifetime.
