For seven years, Evelyn Grant had loved Charles Harrington, believing their bond would lead to marriage. Instead, she received a breakup - not because of flaws in their relationship, but because Charles had fallen for Lucas Ford, a man as innocent and obedient as Evelyn had been seven years ago. Though heartbroken, Evelyn accepted the breakup with grace and married Julian Blake, Harbor City's most powerful yet unofficial kingpin. Ironically, it was on Evelyn's wedding day that Charles realized his inability to live without her. Desperate to win her back, he employed every possible means, only pushing Evelyn further away. Finally, Evelyn made him understand that no one waits forever. Accepting defeat with dignity, Charles released her to pursue true happiness.
