Selena, daughter of the Northwind Wolf Alpha, obeyed her father's dying wish to "hide her power and live a peaceful life," marrying Darius, an Alpha of the Darkblade Wolf Pack, as an ordinary Luna, and using her resources to help him rebuild his territory. However, a year later, Darius, claiming to be Selena's "destined partner," brought back Evelyn, the former Alpha of the Grayclaws, publicly humiliating and banishing her.
Selena, no longer able to endure, went to the palace to demonstrate her true power to the Wolf King, obtaining a permit to rebuild the Northwind Wolf Pack. She took all her possessions with her, but was robbed by Evelyn on the way. Fortunately, she was rescued by Kael, an Alpha of the Silvermoon Wolf Pack—Kael was a soldier Selena had saved from the battlefield three years prior, and had always secretly loved her.
At Darius and Evelyn's simple wedding, a Grayclaw warrior, drunk, revealed a shocking secret: three years ago, Evelyn massacred 108 of a witch's children, leaving the Northwind Mark to frame others. Selena is enraged. Kael helps her find Evelyn's diary, confirming the truth—it was this frame-up that led to the witch spies' revenge on the North Wind family, resulting in the deaths of Selena's father, three brothers, sister-in-law, and one-year-old nephew. Selena vows to make Evelyn confess before everyone.
At this time, the witches and vampires are advancing, and the Wolf King appoints Kael as commander and Selena as the vanguard. Evelyn repeatedly provokes the army, even openly challenging Selena, only to be easily defeated by Selena in her human form. Selena transforms into a giant wolf in public, fully demonstrating her power. During the siege, Evelyn disobeys orders to steal credit, leading to the annihilation of the Gray Talon warriors, and she herself is ambushed and captured by the witch leader Ravenna.
Ravenna, seeking revenge for her son, disfigures Evelyn (carving "KILLER" on her face), and the surviving Gray Talon warriors are castrated. Darius, witnessing the carnage, is utterly devastated by Evelyn. Even after being rescued, Evelyn refused to admit her wrongdoing. Darius was forced, as ordered by the werewolf king, to marry Thorne of the Ironfang Clan as his second Luna. Evelyn went mad and wreaked havoc. Selena dragged her to the family graveyard and recounted her crimes one by one—her father had been hacked 108 times, her third brother's body was mangled beyond recognition, and her one-year-old nephew had been reduced to a pulp. Evelyn still argued that "they died for what they deserved." Selena wanted to kill her herself, but Kael stopped her, saying, "Letting her live is more painful than death." Evelyn was imprisoned by Darius in a side hall and died alone after five days without food or water, murmuring, "Selena, you won."
Meanwhile, Kael found Selena's nephew Fenris, who had been missing for three years, at the border wanderer camp. He had survived the massacre by going out to pick moonflowers, but was taken away by wandering werewolves, poisoned, and rendered mute and lame. Kael personally set his broken bones, and Fenris regained his ability to speak amidst excruciating pain, returning to the North Wind.
In the romance, Lyra, the wolf king's sister, has secretly loved Kael for thirteen years and tries to obstruct their marriage, but is ultimately won over by Selena's strength and character. Kael publicly confesses that he fell in love with Selena the moment he was rescued three years ago, and has taken her wolf fangs, sharpened when she was ten, to three battles. Their relationship evolves from a "marriage of convenience" to genuine love, culminating in a formal proposal on a cliff covered in moonflowers.
In the finale, Selena leads Kael and Fenris to pay respects to their father and brother, and Fenris kneels, vowing to protect the North Wind. Selena fulfills her father's dying wish of "finding someone she loves and settling down for life," albeit in a completely different way. Kael and Selena exchange vows of "I will love you forever" amidst the moonflowers, ensuring the continuation of the North Wind wolf bloodline and ushering in new hope.
