My Great-Grandma Is Eighteen

Series details

In 1955, legendary mathematician Octavia Wrenford stepped onto the stage to receive the National Lifetime Achievement Award in Science. Together with her husband Alden Harrowmere, she had returned home after completing their studies in Europe, devoted themselves to scientific research, and co‑founded the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, laying the original foundation for the Harrowmere family. Mid‑ceremony, however, metal scaffolding above the stage collapsed. To shield her young son Edmund, Octavia shoved him out of harm’s way and was fatally struck by the falling debris. Seventy years later, Octavia unexpectedly awakens inside the body of an eighteen‑year‑old girl who bears her exact name. The modern‑day Octavia grew up in rural Vermont with her mother. Only after her mother’s death was she brought back to Astor Bay by her father Gideon. No sooner has she entered the Wrenford household than she faces humiliation and ostracism from her half‑sister Vesper. Faced with her father’s dismissiveness, her sister’s schemes, and mockery from her classmates, Octavia — now carrying the soul of the trailblazing scientist — refuses to be bullied any longer. She pours red wine directly over Vesper’s head in public, then solves a competition problem no other student in the school can crack with her extraordinary mathematical aptitude. Transforming from a low‑ranking country girl, she steadily rises to become the academy’s most talked‑about prodigy. At a banquet, Octavia meets
