Eleanor stayed by Jayden's side for five years. During that time, to help him pull through, she pretended to be congenitally deaf and mute, quietly funding his studio with her parents' inheritance. But just as Jayden miraculously recovered from his deafness, and his studio grew into a company, when everything finally seemed to be looking up, Jayden unexpectedly revealed his true feelings. He confessed that he had never intended to marry Eleanor and was even still obsessed with his ex-fiancée. Utterly heartbroken, Eleanor finally gave up hope and chose to fulfill the arranged marriage that had been set for her with Julian.
