Rebellious disciple

Series details

Story Synopsis Shen Du, the most powerful Heavenly Lord under heaven, sacrificed eighty percent of his cultivation to save all living beings. Yet he was betrayed by Chu Yuan, his most beloved disciple. Stripped of his cultivation and cast off a cliff, he was reduced to a powerless mortal overnight. Three years later, Shen Du returned after cultivating anew among ordinary mortals, vowing to personally discipline his wayward disciple. He fought his way straight into the Demon Realm, only to find the so-called "disgraceful disciple who betrayed his master" had already become the Demon Lord—and laid down an iron law forbidding all demons from slaughtering innocent mortals. Stranger still, someone secretly shielded him from danger every time he faced a deadly predicament. It was not until an elderly storyteller revealed the truth: master and disciple were both afflicted by an ancient curse called the Life-Death Bond. Within three years, one of them was doomed to die. Chu Yuan never betrayed his master at all. He seized his master’s cultivation and cast him into the mortal world solely to divert the heavenly tribule away from Shen Du. Willing to bear the scorn of the entire cultivation world and become public enemy number one, he forced his master to grow stronger amid hatred—so that Shen Du would ultimately be able to kill him without hesitation. One was prepared to trade his own life for his master’s survival. The other longed to live, yet refused to survive at the cost of his disciple’s life. When the truth of the curse tore away all pretenses, Shen Du made a choice that enraged the entire cultivation world. "All living beings may perish, but my disciple shall not."
