Ava, a half-blood vampire abandoned in the Sanctsilver mines, was raised single-handedly by Old Joe, the settlement’s administrator. To raise one billion gold coins to buy the settlement and protect it from vampire hunters, she answered the summon of the Lucano family and returned to House Lucano, head of the Thirteen Clans of the Pureblood Council, to compete for the right of succession. On the night of her return, the adopted daughter Isabella manipulated a chandelier to crash down on her. Ava retaliated with a backhand slap that burned a scorch mark on Isabella’s cheek. Then Isabella joined forces with her hyper-masculine second brother Mark and her sinister, scheming eldest brother Vincent to set trap after trap—from a doorknob mixed with sanctsilver powder and a bloodstone recording frame-up, to an ambush and killing in an underground interrogation room. With her silver-blood body that feared no sanctsilver and could manipulate sanctsilver bare-handed, Ava crushed each scheme one by one. She even used a recording bloodstone to expose Isabella’s crimes in public, forcing her godfather Don Lucano to relent and let her compete for the family succession. After Ava entered Blood Moon Academy, Damien, a follower of Isabella, slapped a blood sigil of abhorrence on her, causing the entire academy to isolate her. Ignoring the bullying, she buried herself in study and took first place in the Ancient Code examination. During the bloodline test, she purified the polluted Holiest Grail with her silver blood, stunning everyone. The old headmaster publicly declared the legend of the silver-blood atavist, and Ava, as the top-ranked student, restored honour to House Lucano.
Mark took Ava to an underground fight club as a setup, intending to use an S-class wanted werewolf to silence her for good. Ava turned the tables by reporting the fight club to the police, used Mark’s bullet to kill the werewolf, and Mark was arrested in disgrace. Vincent colluded with kidnappers to abduct both Ava and Isabella, forcing Don Lucano to choose between them; her godfather chose to save his adopted daughter. Ava broke free of her chains herself, killed the kidnappers, and forced Vincent to sign over a transfer of four hundred million. Vincent was taken away by the police for kidnapping.Under the guise of a “Bloodline Coronation Ceremony,” Don Lucano lured Ava into an underground altar, intending to extract her silver blood to advance his own rank. Isabella and her godfather worked together and also bound Lady Lucano as a sacrifice. In the critical moment, Ava manipulated sanctsilver to sever one of her godfather’s arms; he in turn dragged Isabella into the formation to shield himself from harm and then fled. Ava found the hidden godfather in the study. Just as she was about to finish him, Isabella, having learned the truth about the extermination of her clan, beat her to it and drove a blade through the godfather’s heart. The Council of Elders sentenced Isabella to the punishment of sun-scorching. Mark suddenly returned with control of the northern military, declaring that he would contest the position of family head with Ava. In truth, he was being manipulated by Elder Walter of the Council—the Council had long coveted House Lucano’s sanctsilver veins. In the Bloodline Trial by Combat, Ava defeated Mark. Walter led black-armoured guards and, on the pretext that she “threatened pureblood safety,” attempted to forcibly take over the family. Ava revealed the map of the original silver-blood vein that she had already relocated, detonated a sanctsilver bomb to create chaos, and Old Joe drove into the arena to cover her breakout. In the end, Ava returned to the Dead Man’s Pit with the silver-blood vein worth a hundred billion, and used the fifteen billion in net profit to build a true home for the half-bloods. She stood on the high ground gazing at the rising sun, with cheering companions behind her and boundless freedom before her—one billion was only the ticket; true freedom had just begun.
