Blair was once a top trial lawyer with a promising future. After being attacked while protecting her boyfriend Garrett and sustaining a severe head injury that left her deaf, she was forced to give up the legal career she loved. For the next six years, she lived under the illusion of Garrett’s “deep affection”—he learned sign language for her and threw lavish birthday parties every year, convincing her that his devotion was worth it.
On the night of her 28th birthday, Blair’s hearing unexpectedly returns. Just as she is about to propose to Garrett with a diamond ring, she overhears him and a colleague mocking her disability. He admits that his years of tenderness were merely a public relations act to cultivate an image of devotion and advance his career—and that he never even considered marrying her. At the same time, Garrett was seen acting intimately with his subordinate Georgina, shattering Blair’s six years of deep devotion.
In her despair, Blair accepted a proposal from Grant, a wealthy heir introduced by her mother. Grant, the founder of a private military group, had harbored a secret crush on Blair for sixteen years. He had traveled to Africa to become a mercenary leader, all to provide her with the ultimate sense of security. He appeared out of nowhere to rescue her when she was kidnapped, healing her emotional wounds with his sincerity and devotion.
After regaining her hearing, Blair refused to wallow in her pain. At the invitation of her mentor Howard, she returned to the legal profession, where she secured a multi-million-dollar corporate case through her exceptional skills, staging a remarkable comeback in her career. Faced with Garrett’s belated repentance and attempts to win her back, she remained clear-headed and resolute, drawing a firm line between them.
Garrett, however, only came to his senses after losing her. Learning that Blair had once planned to propose to him filled him with remorse, yet he remained self-centered and incapable of understanding true love. Georgina, having falsified her academic credentials and maliciously sought revenge against Blair, ultimately had her law license revoked, reaping what she had sown.
In the end, Blair becomes a partner at the law firm, reaching the pinnacle of her career. She builds a happy family with Grant and gives birth to twins—a boy and a girl—truly becoming a winner in life. Garrett, however, grows old alone. Spotting Blair’s happy figure from afar on the street, he vanishes completely from her life, paying the price of lifelong regret for his selfishness and hypocrisy.
