Grace grew up with Alex, the heir to a mafia empire, and loved him for six years, helping him reach the pinnacle of power. On the night of their sixth anniversary, however, she is horrified to hear him refer to her as nothing more than a "plaything." Grace immediately breaks up with him and leaves. Heartbroken, she drinks her sorrows away and, in a rebellious act, tries to hire a male escort. By mistake, she spends the night with Ethan—Alex's illegitimate half-brother and rival for power. A night of passion that unknowingly draws her into a love that has been lying in wait for her for years.
