Series details

Evelyn Valenti was the Donna heir of the Valenti family, groomed for twenty years—until she gave up her succession seat for her husband, Vincent Russo, and stayed at the Russo estate to care for Claire, the girl his family had taken in. For three years, Claire used depression and trauma responses to repeatedly claim Vincent's favor, even pushing Evelyn down the stairs and costing her the ability to fight long-term. Six weeks ago, during a negotiation at Red Hook, Vincent pulled security and the private physician to stay with Claire—leaving Evelyn to be ambushed, left bleeding out alone on an operating table, where she signed her own critical condition notice and D&C consent form, losing their child. That was when Evelyn finally woke up. She exposed Claire's overstepping video at a charity gala, cut off Claire's resources, filed for divorce, and decided to face the Valenti family's cruelest return review. Vincent thought she was just throwing a tantrum—until she walked the hundred-meter penitence path of broken glass, coarse salt, and thirteen lashes, revoked Russo access to her assets and ports, and vanished without a trace. By the time Vincent discovered Claire had faked her illness, orchestrated the Red Hook ambush, and colluded with Victor to seize power, it was already too late.
