Eleanor Lester, chairwoman of The Peel Group, and her husband Leo Peel poured all their love into their adopted daughter, Vivian Peel, after their biological daughter Chloe Peel went missing in childhood. Eleanor doted on Vivian until she turned 18, and even after Chloe was found, Eleanor continued to favor Vivian—ultimately naming her heir to The Peel Group. What Eleanor never expected was that Vivian, fearing future uncertainty, would plot to kill her. Nearing death, Eleanor saw Vivian’s true nature and swore that if given another chance, she would make it up to Chloe and expose Vivian’s character. Her wish came true. Eleanor woke up three years in the past. This time, she kept her vow. The Peel family, stubbornly trusting Vivian, faced complete ruin: bankruptcy and disintegration. Vivian squandered what remained of the family fortune. Meanwhile, Eleanor remarried her longtime admirer, Colin Pape, and built a joyful new life with her daughter Chloe by her side.
