Three years ago, during a struggle for power among the noble families, Lance Gentry's parents were murdered and he himself was severely injured and left homeless. He was rescued by Serena Morgan and her father, and the Morgan family was subsequently oppressed by other major families for helping Lance. Lance was forced to leave and swore to return in glory to marry Serena. Many years later, through his own hard work and perseverance, he achieved great success and returned in splendor to marry Serena. He wanted to make up for her lifetime of honor and wealth and ensure that she would no longer be bullied by anyone.
