Penny and Kelly are twins — raised apart by their parents' absurd AA custody agreement. Their dad Sam, a grocery store stocker, raises Penny. Their mom Mia, a Wall Street executive, raises Kelly. The huge income gap tears their lives apart. Penny gets into an Ivy League school. Kelly only gets into a state college. Mom sticks rigidly to the deal — makes Dad pay every cent of Penny's tuition and living costs. To ease Dad's burden, Penny plans to sell her grandma's family heirloom. Only to discover it's a fake. Mom sold the real one years ago — and kept all the money. Penny gathers proof and forces Mom to return the $500,000. Furious, Mom seizes her documents to stop her from starting college. With no way out, Penny turns to her sharp, protective aunt. She gets her documents back. Breaks free from her biased mom's control. And heads to college alone — starting a new life far from her toxic family.
