Three years ago, Kaelen wounded Valen, the earl’s son, to defend his bullied girlfriend and was exiled to the border. There, two mysterious mentors trained him to wield thunder and fight monsters. Upon his return, he finds his mother tormented by the earl and his beloved Aileen married to Valen. To seize his fate, Kaelen joins the knight trials, enduring aristocrats’ scorn.
