Blind since birth, Ella is murdered by her own sister—who steals her fiancé, her inheritance, and her eyes. But instead of dying, she falls through a crack between realms and lands in the Underworld. There she meets Azrael, the feared Lord of the Seventh Hell, who has evaded marriage for three millennia. Desperate to appease the Council, he offers her a contract: a fake marriage in exchange for protection and revenge. Ella accepts. Unable to see his terrifying features, she sees only his careful kindness. As assassination attempts and court conspiracies mount—including a deadly alliance between her sister and Azrael’s exiled sister—Ella discovers that her blindness is her greatest strength. What begins as a cold bargain turns into a dark, passionate love. In Hell, she finally finds a home, a purpose, and eyes to see the demon who gave her everything.
