Ten years of effort finally culminated in the cure, all to save her, yet she credited every honor to her former love! To force Byron Davis out, Kane Carter cut off the building’s heating in the dead of winter. Watching her only lifesaving drug gradually die in the freezing cold, Byron desperately tried to intervene, only to be accused of pettiness and jealousy! Seeing her cold indifference, Byron finally saw the truth. Ten years of devotion could not rival the return of an old flame; the life-saving cure was treated as worthless. The day the drug was destroyed was the day he made his decision to leave. “Chloe Brooks, your life and death are no longer my concern.” His other identity would soon be reborn—the return of the medical legend, “Dr. Z.”
