Seven years ago, Cedric Thorne fell into a coma saving his first love Elaine Lockhart, and was abandoned by his family. Clara Wren stayed by his side, begged a healer to save him, and when he woke, they fell in love. One day, she accidentally understood a conversation he had in French — and learned that he had already married Elaine, and her own marriage certificate was fake. She was pregnant, but at her birthday banquet, Elaine framed her — Cedric didn't believe her and forced her to apologize. He also accused her of planning to leave the country. On the day Cedric married Elaine, Clara left the country. He tried to win her back, only to find Julian Ashworth already by her side.
