Series details

Su Jinshu and Pei Yan were deeply devoted to one another. But Princess Zhao Hua framed the Su household on false charges, leading to the execution of every member of the clan. To secretly safeguard Su Jinshu and the late Emperor’s imperial testament, Pei Yan pretended to pledge allegiance to Zhao Hua. On their wedding day, he stabbed her and sent her into exile, bearing all her resentment and misunderstandings without explanation. Su Jinshu narrowly escaped death. She returned to the imperial capital under the alias Shen Qingqiu, the Ghost Physician, bent on avenging her family. She repeatedly engaged in wary confrontations with Pei Yan, who concealed his true intentions behind the facade of a powerful court minister. As they navigated dangerous plots, they uncovered layer after layer of schemes. They joined hands to resist Zhao Hua, foreign invaders and all hostile factions, enduring cruel torture, brutal battles, and heart-rending separations that felt like eternal farewells. In the end, all treacherous villains were eliminated, yet the lovers suffered irreversible losses. Pei Yan was permanently crippled by severe wounds, while Su Jinshu maimed her own hands, losing her gift of healing forever. The two retired to an old ginkgo manor, staying by each other’s side until their final days. They swore their bond beneath the ginkgo trees, crafting a soul-wrenching tragic tale intertwined with love and hatred.
