FAREWELL,MY HEIRESS BODYGUARD Episode 1

Series details

To escape her cold, unfeeling family, Elena—the eldest daughter of the Belmont clan—agrees to a marriage of convenience with Grey, a ruthless Mafia godfather known for his brutality. She takes the place of her manipulative half-sister, Lexi, at the cost of a ten-billion-dollar dowry and by voluntarily giving up the woman she loves: her bodyguard, Zara. Zara is actually the heiress and sole successor to New York’s wealthiest family; however, having mistaken Lexi for the person who saved her life years ago, she treats Elena with cruelty, even allowing her subordinates to inflict harsh punishments on her. Elena eventually realizes the truth and leaves decisively. Grey, the Mafia godfather, had reluctantly accepted the Belmonts' "marriage pawn" due to his mother's pressure. Although he initially disliked Elena, he gradually became captivated by her resilience and decisive nature. Even after learning that her heart belonged to Zara, he continued to watch over her silently, using his influence to help her grow and break free from both her indifferent family and the woman who failed to cherish her. After Elena left, Zara discovered through old surveillance footage at her birthday party that Elena was the one who had saved her life years ago. Overcome with remorse, she stormed Elena and Grey’s engagement party with her bodyguards in a desperate attempt to stop the union. Amidst Zara’s obsessive pursuit, Elena began to recognize Grey’s feelings for her; she started letting go of the past and embracing a new life. The conflict culminated when Lexi attempted to kill Elena by running her over with a car; Zara intervened just in time, sacrificing her own life to save Elena. Lexi was subsequently imprisoned, and with Grey’s support, Elena rose to become the new Mafia godmother of New York—shedding the image of the pitiful victim who could be bullied by anyone.
