Forbidden Muse of the Duchess Episode 1

Series details

"Isa, a lowly maid, harbors a deep, silent adoration for the noble and frigid Duchess Margaret. However, behind the Duchess’s glamorous facade lies a grim reality: she is a victim of domestic abuse and psychological manipulation by her cold-blooded husband, Duke Philip. To him, she is nothing more than a profitable tool for producing art, her soul long since rendered numb. To preserve the family’s ""artistic legacy"" and cultivate a successor, the Duke commands Margaret to teach Isa how to paint. Through the blurred boundaries of instruction and the forbidden tension of stolen touches, Isa’s sincerity and warmth reignite Margaret’s dying spirit. The two become locked in a desperate, chaotic struggle between restraint and surrender. Their secret romance, however, is witnessed by a servant named Thomas, who betrays them to the tabloids. Faced with a tidal wave of public scandal, the Duke’s deadly threats, and the horrific sight of another same-sex couple burned at the stake, Margaret—long haunted by the suffocating shadows of her life—recoils in absolute terror. Awakened by this bitter betrayal, Isa sees through the hypocrisy of the aristocracy. In a moment of absolute clarity, she renounces any chance of noble status, turns her back on Margaret, and leaves forever. Having lost her muse, Margaret awakens to her own strength through her grief, yet Isa is nowhere to be found. Years later, Margaret uses her final masterpieces to deliver a veiled confession to the world. In the crowded gallery, Isa stands among the masses, offering a distant, solitary applause before they both turn toward their separate paths of freedom."
