He Called Me Ugly, Now He Wants Me Back Episode 1

Series details

As a child, Vera was poisoned by an experimental rose while saving Thorne. A red blemish was left on her right cheek, and a marriage contract was arranged between her and Thorne because of this incident. She loved Thorne deeply, yet endured his coldness, humiliation and betrayal for years. On the day they obtained their marriage license, Thorne was caught being intimate with Vanessa inside the car. Vera later learned the shocking truth: the red mark on her face was born from her love for him, and the targeted treatment could only work if she stopped loving him completely. Soon after, Thorne shoved her, leaving her critically injured. Even when her life hung in the balance, Thorne refused to sign the surgical consent form. Vera’s heart died that day. She healed her disfigured face and left for Europe. Three years later, she returned as a world-leading bioscientist. Back home, Vera was determined to file for divorce, but Thorne kept delaying the process. She exposed that Vanessa had stolen her research findings and fought back with complete experimental evidence. Vanessa ended up in prison, and the Crane family fell into bankruptcy. Overwhelmed with regret, Thorne knelt and begged for her forgiveness. But Vera had long let go. She turned him down, and also rejected Adrian’s advances. She chose to devote her life to scientific research and the boundless world beyond.
