He Faked His Death, So I Vanished Episode 1

Series details

Set in a mafia underworld, the female protagonist Anastasia Benedetti has been in love with Dante Moretti, heir to the Moretti family, for six years and is about to marry him. However, on the eve of their wedding, she learns that Dante has been killed in a motorcade bombing. Six weeks pregnant, she becomes a widow before even becoming a wife. Plunged into overwhelming grief, she is placed under the close care of the Moretti family.By chance, Anastasia overhears the shocking truth through a closed door: Dante is not dead at all. He staged the car bombing and faked his death solely to spend six months with his mistress, Ivy, who claims to have a "terminal illness." Dante is certain that Anastasia will stay in line, carrying their child and quietly waiting for his return. Seeing through her lover's selfish and hypocritical true colors, Anastasia abandons all illusions and contacts her older brother, Luca, to plot her revenge. She pretends to continue playing the role of a grieving widow, personally witnessing Dante remain on the estate under the identity of his twin brother, "Dominic" — pretending to care for her tenderly while devoting himself entirely to Ivy. Anastasia receives explicit videos from Ivy, and during a distress call, she personally hears Dante and Ivy being intimate on the other end of the line, completely breaking her heart. She undergoes a termination procedure alone at a public hospital, writes a forged suicide note, and conspires with her brother to stage an extremely convincing private plane crash, creating the illusion that she and her unborn child perished together in the Atlantic Ocean. She completely vanishes, assumes a brand-new identity as Elena Vance, and flees abroad. When Dante learns the news of the crash, he falls into devastating collapse and remorse, frantically searching along the coastline. After discovering the suicide note, he concludes that Anastasia took her own life out of longing for him. But as clues emerge, he realizes her death was an elaborately forged hoax. At the same time, he uncovers that Ivy's cancer diagnosis was a lie from start to finish — everything was a carefully woven trap Ivy set to steal him away. Dante deals with Ivy, then exhausts the entire financial resources of the Moretti family to search across multiple countries for Anastasia, constantly sending her old gifts in an attempt to make amends. At a villa in Tuscany, Dante finally finds the transformed Anastasia. He sets aside all his pride and power, weeping and repenting, begging for a second chance and offering vast wealth in exchange for reconciliation. But Anastasia, having completed her own rebirth, chooses to forgive the past yet refuses to look back. She rejects all of Dante's material compensation, explicitly refuses reconciliation, and closes the door to completely sever all ties between them. From then on, Anastasia begins her own life under her new identity as Elena, building a brand-new career and social circle. Dante, trapped in deep depression and unable to move past his trauma, ultimately meets a tragic end. The two never see each other again. The female protagonist breaks free from the shackles of her past relationship and the mafia world, embracing a future of freedom that belongs to her alone.
