I Could Hear My Daughter Before She Died Episode 1

Series details

Evelyn is the president of the Carter Group. Six years ago, her biological daughter Lily was switched at birth. Evelyn had always believed that someone else’s child was hers, while her husband Nathan secretly maintained a relationship with his mistress, Claire, and left their daughter, Chloe, with Evelyn. After Evelyn reunited with Lily, she found the child to be timid and distant—so much so that she didn’t even dare to ask her for help. Just as Evelyn was preparing to travel abroad for work, she suddenly heard Lily’s inner thoughts and learned that in a past life, her daughter had been bullied by Chloe, misunderstood by Nathan and her brothers, and ultimately met a tragic end. Realizing what her daughter had endured, Evelyn immediately canceled her trip and began protecting Lily herself. She successively exposed Chloe’s lies, fired Martha—the nanny who favored Chloe—and discovered that Nathan had not only betrayed her in their marriage but also concealed Lily’s school application, embezzled resources, and even condoned his family’s abuse of his own daughter. Hospital records, discrepancies in blood types, and investigative evidence gradually pointed to the baby-swapping incident that occurred six years earlier. Nathan and Claire attempted to maintain control over Evelyn by leveraging the birthday party, public opinion, and the support of their three adopted sons, but she repeatedly exposed their schemes in public. Through a series of confrontations, Evelyn stopped bailing out her husband and adopted sons, revoking their supplementary credit cards and financial support, forcing them to face the consequences of their own choices. Meanwhile, Julian, the CEO of Hayes Group, gradually became involved and was linked to the medical malpractice incident from six years ago as well as the identity of Lily’s biological father. Evelyn carefully verifies the truth, refusing to trust anyone simply because of their status. Ultimately, Nathan and Claire kidnap Lily in an attempt to demand a massive ransom; Evelyn and Julian work with the police to rescue her daughter. Nathan is shot dead, and Lily is saved. The story concludes with the mother and daughter rebuilding their sense of security, and the villains each facing the consequences of their actions.
