Aaron, a poor straight-A student, has a crush on ice hockey star Connor. A love poem written for Connor marked with the initials C.B. leads the whole school to mistakenly believe he fancies Caleb, the hockey team captain. By chance, Aaron becomes Caleb’s tutor, and lingering daily closeness sparks subtle tension between them. After facing his true feelings, Caleb confesses his love. While they are head over heels, Connor exposes the truth about the poem in public. Distracted mid-game, Caleb suffers a severe injury, loses his captain position, and breaks things off with Aaron. Aaron stays loyal and lays bare his heart, healing Caleb’s obsessive insecurities, and they reconcile. In the end, Caleb stages an epic comeback on the ice, Aaron lands his dream job, and the two stay together.
