Series details Twelve years ago, young Selena Vio and her mother, Kalista, were driven from Vio Estate by her treacherous stepfather Marcus and stepmother Cassandra. Her mother was paralyzed by nerve-altering drugs and imprisoned in a sanatorium, while Selena was sent to the countryside to fend for herself. Twelve years later, Selena has become a top neurorehabilitation specialist. Marcus uses her mother's life to blackmail her into marrying Keller, the eldest son of the Black family, who is paralyzed after a car accident, in place of her stepsister Daisy.
Selena marries into the Black family with a heart full of revenge, only to discover that Keller is not the cripple everyone claims him to be, but has been secretly accumulating power, waiting for an opportunity to reclaim the family power usurped by her stepmother Vivian and half-brother Justin. The two quickly reach an agreement, entering into a sham marriage: Selena will heal Keller's leg, and Keller will help Selena reclaim the Vio Corporation.
At the wedding, Selena cleverly thwarted Justin and Daisy's attempts to sabotage her. At the family banquet, she uncovered Vivian's plot to frame her for stealing the necklace and turned the tables on her. When Justin seized the opportunity to pressure her into inheriting the family headship, Selena publicly promised to heal Keller's leg within six months, making a bet. Later, at the Lauren Group's collaboration dinner, Selena won Mr. Lauren's trust with her superb medical skills and exceptional emotional intelligence, securing a bidding opportunity for Blake.
Justin, unwilling to accept defeat, bribed Keller's assistant, Ian, to steal the bidding proposal, but Keller and Selena outsmarted him, causing him to not only lose the bid but also expose the mole. Daisy, driven by jealousy, plotted to kidnap Selena to ruin her reputation, but ended up being arrested by the police. Justin then teamed up with Marcus to try and seize land on the North Shore, but fell into a trap set by Selena, losing all his savings and causing Daisy to miscarry. At Mrs. Margaret's 70th birthday party, Vivian and Justin plotted to poison her and frame Keller. Selena, using first aid skills her mother taught her in childhood, saved Margaret's life, exposing their conspiracy. Ultimately, Vivian and Justin were arrested on multiple charges, including attempted murder and business fraud, while Marcus was imprisoned for unlawful detention and hiring someone to commit assault.
After her revenge, Selena proposed ending their contractual marriage. Keller, however, produced an old photograph from six years prior, confessing that he had long since fallen in love with Selena, who had saved him in the car accident years before. The two cleared up all misunderstandings and their fake marriage became real. Three years later, Selena successfully revitalized VioHealth and took it public, standing shoulder to shoulder with Keller at the pinnacle of their careers, achieving a fulfilling life and love.
