Series details

Everyone in the city knows that Fire Captain Lucian and I can’t stand each other. But when a hotel inferno nearly kills me, Lucian fights to bring me back—and the tears in his eyes reveal something neither of us is ready to face. Before I can make sense of it, headquarters forces us to lead Rescue 7 together. Now we share the same missions, the same vehicle, and even the same dorm room. I tell myself the heat between us is nothing but rivalry. Then I find a photograph from five years ago and become convinced that Lucian has always been in love with our medic, Adele. I’m wrong. Lucian didn’t fall for her that day. He fell for me. Now every rescue puts my life in his hands, every fight pulls us closer, and I’m beginning to realize that the man I’ve spent years trying to defeat may be the one man I can’t bear to lose.
