Reuniting with Empress Mother Episode 1

Series details

Twenty years ago, Zhao Jingyuan became separated from Xie Lanxiang and others. Xie Lanxiang was torn apart from her children, each living far apart. Over the years, Emperor Xie Chenyao has struggled in vain to find his biological mother and eldest sister. Xie Baozhu, though appearing delicate on the surface, is firm at heart. She supported Chu Shixuan in his imperial examinations, yet suffered from his act of "favoring concubines and neglecting his wife"—Chu Shixuan indulged his concubine Shen Wan'er and his mother Liu Shi in bullying Xie Baozhu and her daughter. In her quest to find her daughter, Xie Lanxiang has been selling vegetables among the common people. Chen Feng, the capable and loyal guard beside Emperor Xie Chenyao, has been assisting in the search all along. Chu Shixuan, however, is cold-hearted and mercenary; Shen Wan'er is vicious and arrogant; Liu Shi is selfish, superstitious, and favors sons over daughters. Amidst these intricate entanglements, will the long-separated relatives finally reunite, and will the villains meet their just deserts?
