She proposed to him 999 times — and was turned down 999 times. Blinded by a mistaken belief, Ethan thought the family's illegitimate daughter Chloe was the one who saved his life years ago. He cherished Chloe, and hurt Lorna at every turn. At the auction, he publicly snatched away the heirloom that belonged to Lorna's mother. In the bar, he watched her in danger and did nothing to save her. Only later did Lorna uncover the truth: Ethan was no ordinary bodyguard. He was a powerful billionaire heir himself, hiding his identity just to stay close to Chloe. It is only after she walks away that Ethan learns the real truth — Lorna was his true savior all along. The woman he should have loved was always her.
