Series details The Black Ridge Wolf Clan has long carried an ancient Blood Moon prophecy. When twin sisters were born, the seer declared their fate: among the two sisters, on the night when the Blood Moon rises, the Moon Goddess would take one away, while the other would remain with the clan. After the Veyl family’s twins, Aurelia and Selina, were born, their parents decided that the frail and tearful younger daughter, Selina, was the one destined to be sacrificed. From that moment on, the entire family showed endless favoritism toward the younger sister, stripping away all love, resources, and glory from the eldest daughter, Aurelia.
Aurelia was originally the fated mate of Kael, the heir to the Alpha throne. The two had already chosen their exclusive silver wolf wedding rings and prepared for their Moon Bond ceremony. Driven by jealousy, Selina spent years pretending to suffer from a fatal illness, recreating the Moon Goddess visions that Aurelia had dreamed of as a child in order to gain the clan’s sympathy. She constantly manipulated Kael and their parents, driving a wedge between them and Aurelia.
Although Kael secretly favored Aurelia, he repeatedly gave in under the guise of “pity,” continuously postponing their engagement. He even agreed to publicly form a Moon Bond with Selina during the Blood Moon Ceremony, claiming that he was only fulfilling her “final wish.”
During twelve days of confrontation, Aurelia saw through the cruelty and indifference of everyone around her. On every new moon and full moon, her mother would claim she was “transferring Selina’s suffering onto herself” and whip Aurelia’s back with a silver lash, leaving layers of old and new scars. The acts of kindness she carried out alone—traveling through storms and snow to provide aid to the lower-ranking members of the clan—were all credited to Selina by Kael. The ancestral Moonlight Stone, her ceremonial dress, and even the engagement and ritual that should have belonged to her were all taken away.
Since the age of four, Aurelia had repeatedly dreamed of the silver-eyed Moon Goddess. Countless times, she told her parents and Kael the truth: she was the one destined to be taken away according to the prophecy. Yet everyone accused her of jealousy, saying she was merely pretending to be pitiful and seeking attention.
With only seven days remaining before the Blood Moon, Aurelia’s long-term abuse left her constantly coughing blood, and her life force continued to fade. The only person who remained truly loyal and protective of her was her maid, Maeve. When Aurelia witnessed Kael tenderly promise Selina that he would love only her for the rest of his life, the last trace of attachment in her heart was completely shattered.
On the night before the Blood Moon, despite Aurelia’s severe illness, her parents forced her to travel alone to an ancient temple deep in the mountains. There, she was ordered to kneel on the freezing stone floor stained with old blood and complete three all-night prayer ceremonies, praying for Selina’s ritual to succeed.
On the day of the Blood Moon Ceremony, the main hall held the blood oath ritual between Selina and Kael, while Aurelia knelt alone in a side hall, close to death. As the crimson light of the lunar eclipse covered the temple, the power of the Moon Goddess shattered the stone walls. The silver-eyed Moon Goddess appeared and revealed the complete truth—
The one chosen by the Moon Goddess, the one destined to leave this world, had never been Selina.
It was Aurelia.
In front of Kael, her parents, and Selina, Aurelia passed through a spatial rift and followed the Moon Goddess into the Underworld, finally escaping the mortal world filled with exploitation and betrayal. At that moment, Selina’s falsely claimed terminal illness disappeared instantly, and all of her lies were exposed before the entire clan.
Kael collapsed in regret and finally awakened to the truth. He voluntarily abandoned his right to inherit the Alpha throne and lived alone in a mountain cottage for the rest of his life, consumed by endless remorse. Aurelia’s biased parents spent their remaining years enduring the clan’s condemnation and their own torment. Selina lost everything she had relied on and was rejected by the entire clan.
Years later, when a mountain disaster struck, Kael lost his life. His soul arrived in the Underworld, hoping to beg for Aurelia’s forgiveness. But by then, Aurelia had already become the judge of departed souls, and there was no trace of love left in her heart.
Aurelia’s parents and Selina eventually died as well. Their souls arrived in the Underworld one after another, where they were forced to face eternal judgment for the lies, favoritism, and cruelty they had caused. For all eternity, they would bear the consequences of their sins, never receiving forgiveness.
