The Contract Wife’s Awakening Episode 1

Series details

Emily, the fallen heiress of a once-prominent family, entered into a contractual marriage with James—the CEO of the Sterling Group—following her family's bankruptcy; shortly thereafter, she became pregnant. Driven by a desire to seize his family's vast fortune alongside his childhood sweetheart, Victoria (who was infertile), James coerced Emily into relinquishing custody of her unborn child. When she refused, he imprisoned her in a basement and even administered expired medication, leaving Emily physically and psychologically traumatized and pushing her to the brink of miscarriage. Arthur, a lawyer and longtime family friend, intervened just in time to save Emily as she contemplated suicide, persuading her to seek a divorce and secretly offering his assistance. Sensing Emily's intent to escape, Victoria devised a scheme to drug her and frame her for having an illicit affair with Arthur. Enraged, James intensified his torment of Emily; he further colluded with a doctor named Sarah to fabricate a psychiatric evaluation, forcibly committing Emily to a sanatorium in an attempt to permanently strip her of her parental rights. Feigning compliance, Emily secretly used a voice recorder to gather evidence of the entire conspiracy involving James, Victoria, and Sarah. Seizing an opportunity when security was lax, she stole a mobile phone to contact Arthur and transmitted the incriminating evidence to a journalist for a live broadcast exposé. With James's scandal exposed and the Sterling Group's stock plummeting, he flew into a vengeful rage and attempted to inject Emily with a labor-inducing drug to destroy the family's bloodline. Arthur and his team burst in just in time to rescue Emily and bring James and his accomplices to justice. Ultimately, Emily safely gave birth to her child, regained full custody, and inherited the Sterling family fortune. After paying off her family's outstanding debts, she donated the remainder of her wealth, refusing to let money define or bind her. Moved by Arthur's unwavering protection and devotion, Emily officially entered into a relationship with him; together, they embarked on a peaceful and happy new life with the child, while all the villains involved received their just punishment under the law.
