The Don's Wife Hears Everything Episode 1

Series details

Elena Marchetti is actually Caterina Falcone, the sole survivor of the slaughtered Falcone crime family. As the wife of Dante Marchetti, underboss of the Marchetti clan, she plays the role of a docile, ornamental spouse in public, while working secretly as a nightshift audio transcriber for a private security firm. One midnight, over surveillance wires, she overhears her husband hiring a hitman to kill her. Dante has long uncovered her true identity. He married her merely to control this valuable “asset”. He plans to stage a fatal carbrake failure near a lake on their wedding anniversary to make her death look like an accident, so he can seize the Falcone fortune. He has tricked Elena’s best friend Lucia into being a witness to the supposed tragedy. Caterina gathers recorded murder plots and evidence that Dante embezzled family funds, then seeks help from Marco Greco, a lawyer operating between legitimate business and the underworld. Using the anonymous verification hotline of her employer, she feeds misleading intelligence to drive a wedge between Dante and the assassin, buying time for her countermove. She confronts the deceived Lucia and wins her loyalty. On the eve of their anniversary, she plays Dante’s murderplanning recordings publicly at their proposalvenue restaurant, with all evidence sent to Don Salvatore, the old patriarch of the Marchetti family. She meets alone with Don Salvatore, the man who once ordered the eradication of her bloodline. By bargaining to prevent a devastating citywide gang war, she secures the return of Falcone estates, her legitimate family title and allegiance from surviving Falcone soldiers. Dante is stripped of status and exiled. He finally realizes the faceless, insightful source on the midnight hotline he confided in is none other than the wife he tried to murder. Caterina rejects his pleas for mercy during a prisoncell visit. One year later, Caterina rules as the head of the Falcone family. Lucia serves as her most trusted confidante, and Marco becomes her romantic partner. When she receives a remorseful letter from exiled Dante, she lets go of the past without replying. The midnight hours, once filled with other people’s dark conspiracies, now fully belong to her.
