The Gatekeeper Is a God Episode 1

Series details

At the pinnacle of the clouds, the great archmage Kael has pushed his magic to the limits of the mortal world—yet remains trapped by a bottleneck of the heart. Because in his heart, there has never been a single person he must protect. His master unlocks his sealed memories and orders him to descend into the mortal world: only by loving, hating, and suffering can his magic truly "come alive." But no sooner does he enter the royal capital than a cup of sweet dew spills on a noble lady's gown—and Kael is extorted for eight thousand gold coins, forced into debt as a gatekeeper. A crippled captain, a spoiled heir, an assassin guild, a powerful dynasty… all who look down on him are waiting for the moment he gets crushed. Yet when he follows his buried memories and pushes open the door of a broken-down house, he discovers that behind his father's wrongful imprisonment and his family's ruin lies an intricate trap set by the very same noble house. This time, he will make everyone understand: the price of offending a hidden god is far heavier than they ever imagined.
