TIDAL TURMOIL Episode 1

Series details

After her parents disappear in a shipwreck, Mara Whitaker is forced by her uncle Victor and cousin Celeste to sign away her trust and the "Second Tide," the vessel left by her parents. Pinned down in the old boathouse that night, Mara does not yield; instead, she secretly records the coercion, storms the boardroom with bloodstained documents, and immediately vetoes the family's power‑grab resolution. But Victor counters by locking down the estate, the group's systems, the North Dock access, and fuel accounts, trying to push Mara out of Bar Harbor's commercial core. Mara refuses to leave; she fights back from the docks: exposing fraudulent loss claims for black cod, revealing cash‑outs from the foundation's restaurant, live‑streaming her takedown of Celeste, protecting threatened old fishermen Red and Noshi, and establishing a transparent South Bay settlement hub. Through open auctions, public ledgers, and debt swaps, she tears apart the Whitaker monopoly on the harbor. As the "Second Tide" resurfaces, her parents' old compass, WH‑7 memory card, and radio recordings gradually unveil the truth of the shipwreck: Daniel and Laura did not simply die at sea—they had captured evidence of illegal trawling by "North Shore III" in the protected zone, and their distress call was deliberately delayed by eleven minutes, costing them the rescue window. Mara, once cast out as a disowned heiress, step by step becomes the core of the South Bay alliance, and ultimately drags Victor, Celeste, and the entire old‑port interest chain into court. This is not the story of a girl reclaiming her inheritance—it is the story of how she made a port, long monopolized by one family, learn once again to answer a cry for help.
