When My Secretary Quit, the CEO Went Mad Episode 1

Series details

Lillian Reed had been Joyce White's secretary for five years, and his secret lover for just as long. She was patient, restrained, and graceful, yet she never received the recognition she deserved. When Joyce announced his engagement to Ruby, heiress of the Oceanic Group, Lillian finally saw clearly and resolved to end this hopeless relationship. Joyce had grown accustomed to Lillian's devotion and sacrifice, never truly acknowledging his own feelings. He tried to keep her with gifts and money, but remained cold and domineering. Lillian, suppressing her heartbreak, deliberately distanced herself, feigning indifference so he would despise her and let her leave with dignity. At the engagement banquet, Joyce's mother Helen and Ruby's sister Anna humiliated her repeatedly, yet she remained composed and unyielding. Burdened by her stepfather's gambling debts and her brother's critical illness, she endured even more hardship, even secretly terminating the child she carried with Joyce. Exhausted in body and spirit, she submitted her resignation and left the White Group for good. Only after losing Lillian did Joyce wake up. He searched for her obsessively, blacklisted her throughout the city to trap her by his side. He broke off the engagement, severed ties with his family, fought for her, and begged her to stay. Ruby and Anna, driven by jealousy, conspired to push Lillian into a lake and staged it as an accident. Joyce was devastated, sought revenge without mercy, and sent both women to prison, while he withered away in grief. But Lillian had survived, escaping in secret and starting over far away under a new identity. Only when Joyce set aside all pride and confessed his long-hidden love and the constraints that had bound him did they finally resolve their misunderstandings. In the end, he made amends with unwavering tenderness and devotion. They overcame every obstacle, held their wedding, and began a new life together in happiness.
