Why Rebel? Your Grandpa's the Emperor Episode 1

Series details

Julian, a modern man, unexpectedly wakes up in Great Zhu as Jasper, the amnesiac imperial grandson. With no memory of his true identity, he believes he is only an ordinary merchant’s son. Knowing that the current Emperor will soon shed blood over the succession, Julian focuses on one thing only: making money, saving silver, and planning his escape. Using his modern knowledge, he creates refined salt to fill the state treasury, stockpiles grain to save flood victims, and stuns the court with brilliant poetry. Yet he has no idea that the "grandfather" by his side is actually the emperor himself, traveling in disguise. As Julian makes money, outsmarts his enemies, and slowly uncovers his real identity, he rises from a reckless wastrel to the rightful imperial successor the people truly support. This is a lighthearted, hilarious, and satisfying costume drama.
