Xiangxi Corpse-Chasing Legends Episode 1

Series details

In the autumn of the 31st year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, Chen Guibao, a young soldier from Zhengan, left the barracks privately to return home overnight. Deep in the Xiangxi mountains, he accidentally encountered an eerie nocturnal procession. A red-robed shaman led the way with ancient ritual artifacts, while a blue-robed apprentice scattered spirit money along the path. Five corpse figures wearing talisman-covered bamboo hats marched stiffly without bending their knees or breathing, strictly following ancient corpse-guiding rules. Ignoring local taboos, the bold soldier tailed the ominous procession and witnessed long-lost witchcraft rituals, including mat spiritual barriers, chicken-blood talisman sealing, and cinnabar soul suppression. Based on a real eyewitness account, this suspenseful thriller restores the ancient Chiyou fog magic, the strict three-guides and three-forbids doctrine, and the ghost territory boundary lore. It uncovers the authentic, thousand-year-old mysteries of Xiangxi’s legendary corpse-guiding witchcraft with eerie and mysterious storytelling.
