Saved the Heir, Now They Want Me Dead Episode 1

Series details

Ethan Steele is the sole heir to Steele Industries, one of North America’s leading corporations, and the ace of “Shadow Operations,” a top-tier private military organization. During a mission in a war zone, his fighter jet was shot down by a stray bullet, leaving him critically injured, unconscious, and clinging to life. Nina, a medical student traveling with the team, risked her life to save him, while Marcus, a member of the same team, harbored malicious intent after his romantic advances were rejected. He seized the opportunity to steal Ethan’s family heirloom—a bracelet bearing the “S” crest—and fled the scene, leaving the two behind. In the middle of the desert, Nina mustered all her strength to drag Ethan four miles until rescue arrived and he was taken to the hospital. After emergency treatment, Ethan survived but fell into a deep coma due to severe head trauma. Upon returning to the United States, Marcus saw the $10 million reward offered by Steele Industries for their son and, convinced that the two were dead, resolved to claim the reward and ingratiate himself with the wealthy family. Three weeks later, Ethan awoke with complete amnesia; his past identity and memories had been entirely erased. Unable to bear leaving him behind as she prepared to depart, Nina took the helpless young man back to Brooklyn, New York, named him “AI,” and devoted herself to caring for him. Meanwhile, Marcus used the bracelet and a web of lies to deceive the grieving Mrs. Steele, claiming that Ethan had died in battle and that he was the man who saved Ethan’s life. Mrs. Steele believed him, adopted him as her son, and granted him access to the inner circle of the corporation, putting him in charge of some of its resources. Marcus knew full well that Nina was his only weakness, so he began a relentless campaign against her: he framed her for workplace fraud to get her fired, vandalized her father’s restaurant to force it to close, spread rumors to ruin her reputation, and even had her final internship clinic maliciously vandalized, completely derailing her medical career. To solidify his position, the mediocre Marcus organized a coding competition to recruit talent. Ethan, suffering from amnesia but possessing extraordinary talent, taught himself to compete and won the championship in one go. Marcus grew increasingly wary, bribed Nina’s older sister to force her family to move away, and maliciously canceled her father’s health insurance, driving Nina into a desperate situation. Ethan wanted to use his championship prize money to help her, but Marcus fabricated allegations of cheating to freeze the funds. To protect Ethan, Nina lied and claimed he had left New York, temporarily buying time. Having suffered repeated humiliations, Ethan harbored a deep hatred for Steele Industries. He joined a rival company and worked tirelessly, while simultaneously building an online medical consultation website for Nina. As they spent every waking moment together, they found mutual redemption and gradually developed feelings for one another. Soon after, Mrs. Steele sought medical treatment for a chronic condition and, following the treatment plan on Nina’s website, made a full recovery. She immediately hired Nina as her family doctor. Marcus maliciously smeared Nina’s reputation in advance, but despite Mrs. Steele’s reservations, she hired her anyway. To eliminate any future threats, Marcus set a trap to lure Nina to a hotel, drugged her, and attempted to ruin her reputation. Ethan noticed Nina had gone missing, tracked her location to the hotel, and rescued her just in time. Under the influence of the drug, the two fully opened up about their feelings for one another. Marcus immediately realized that the amnesiac genius “AI” was none other than Ethan, who was still alive. To force him to reveal himself, Marcus set a deadly trap at the Steele Industries charity gala. Nina attended the event with a medical aid proposal to seek support, and Ethan accompanied her. Marcus’s attempt to poison them failed, so he kidnapped Nina to lure Ethan into the wilderness for a ambush. Ethan dropped his weapon, feigned being shot, and fell to the ground, using his bulletproof vest to feign death as a countermeasure. At the critical moment, Nina’s sister struck Ethan hard on the head, completely restoring all the memories he had lost. At that moment, Mrs. Steele—who had been secretly investigating—arrived with her team, defused the bomb, and arrested Marcus and Nina’s sister. During the melee, Ethan was seriously injured and lost his memory, forgetting his romance with Nina, who had just discovered she was pregnant. Despite his amnesia, Ethan still felt drawn to Nina and took the initiative to confess his feelings, expressing his desire to get to know her all over again. Later, while visiting her in prison, Ethan fully regained his memory. A year later, their child was born, and Ethan officially took full control of Steele Industries, beginning a happy new life with his beloved.
